Eventually, in life, almost everyone experiences stress and anxiety. Possibly you feel unpleasant in the moments leading up to a crucial test, perhaps you get the jitters the night before your wedding, or maybe you have a case of the butterflies before you get up to speak in front of a group.

This short-term stress and anxiety is just a part of life, and while it is sometimes exacerbated by tension, it constantly goes away.

This chronic social anxiety differs from the stress and anxiety experienced by those with an anxiety condition.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), “Anxiety conditions impact about 40 million American adults age 18 years and older (about 18%) in a given year.” Anxiety conditions can be debilitating for those who struggle with them, along with members of the family and enjoyed ones.

What Are Stress and anxiety Conditions?

In a sense, “stress and anxiety disorder” is an umbrella expression for several more particular psychiatric disorders. According to the NIMH, stress and anxiety disorders include panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive conditions, specific phobias, and generalized stress and anxiety disorder.

These are distinct conditions; the one thing they have in typical is a sense of worry and dread that is disproportionate to the actual events.

The symptoms of a stress and anxiety attack can depend upon the kind of condition. According to the NIMH, panic disorder is “characterized by short episodes of terror, usually accompanied by a pounding heart, sweatiness, weakness, faintness, or dizziness.

During these attacks, individuals with panic disorder may flush or feel cooled; their hands might tingle or numb; and they might experience nausea, chest discomfort, or smothering experiences.”

Treatment for Anxiety Conditions

Some anxiety disorders respond well to a kind of psychiatric therapy called cognitive-behavioral treatment. This can assist relieve the “self-talk” that adds to the escalation of an anxiety attack.

Organized desensitization therapy typically works well for people with phobias, as it gradually exposes them to that which they fear and reduces their adverse reactions.

Practically all stress and anxiety disorders can be treated with pharmaceuticals, alone or in conjunction with psychiatric therapy.

Antidepressants are often helpful in treating panic attacks and generalized stress and anxiety conditions, particularly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

Trademark name drugs like Prozac, Zoloft and Paxil are examples of SSRIs.

There are also pharmaceuticals specifically for anxiety, such as the generic drugs buspirone, diazepam, and lorazepam. Brand pharmaceuticals include Klonopin, Buspar, and Ativan.

The Function of an International Drug store

Although an online drug store isn’t meant to replace a psychological health expert’s diagnosis and treatment of anxiety attacks, it can serve a much-needed purpose: access to the pharmaceuticals that can make life manageable for those who suffer.

Those with anxiety disorders often can’t head out of the house or are ashamed of their condition. They often wind up self-medicating with illicit drugs or alcohol.

With skilled physicians and certified pharmacists, a worldwide pharmacy can help those in need get the help they deserve.
