Schizophrenia is a brain disease that affects one percent of individuals all over the world. The persons can be young or older, women or males, it doesn’t matter.

It’s diagnosis can be harder than it may appear since the symptoms of schizophrenia can be comparable at times to other significant brain conditions such as bipolar affective disorder or even significant depression.

Schizophrenia is identified by a disruption in cognition and emotion, affecting the most basic human qualities: language, thought, understanding, impact, and sense of self. The whole sense of self is altered when an individual is schizophrenic.

Schizophrenia signs are divided into three categories: favorable signs, disorganized symptoms, and unfavorable symptoms.

The most common sign is delusions – patients think that they are somebody besides themselves, frequently someone popular. Hallucinations follow close behind in frequency.

These can be hearing things no one else does, seeing things that aren’t there, and even smelling and feeling something that no one else does.

Chaotic thinking and messy speech are likewise present in individuals with schizophrenia. Other disorganized signs are: problem understanding, poor concentration, bad memory, difficulty revealing thoughts, difficulty incorporating thoughts, feelings and behavior.

Catatonic habits is a defined by stupor/inactivity. The individual with this can stand still for an extended period of time, staring at something, and nothing will disrupt him or trigger him to change position.

Negative symptoms include: lack of emotion, the failure to enjoy activities as much as previously, low energy (the individual relaxes and sleeps a lot more than regular) lack of interest in life and low inspiration.

Schizophrenia is among the more serious mental disorders. It can, with correct treatment, be managed.

The main point is to make sure medication is not discontinued.

This so typically occurs in schizophrenic clients who do not have anyone keeping track of things like medication.
