Today should be a brighter year for those of us facing prostate cancer. Because today, medical science has found out that Androgen Deprivation Therapy doesn’t always have to be surgical or chemical castration.

Now we have Ketoconazole Treatment for Prostate Cancer.

For those hesitant using testicular suppression techniques as prostate cancer treatment should rejoice on this new option.

High-Dose Ketoconazole (abbreviated as HDK) is an anti prostate cancer application that has an androgen lowering effect. Because it blocks various endocrine pathways, it has the ability to decrease testicular and adrenal testosterone production; therefore it could be a form of Androgen Deprivation Therapy but without the repulsive option of removing a part of your genitalia just to suppress testicular activity.

Ketoconazole is a P450 enzyme inhibitor. It was shown by several tests to have direct cell killing action on prostate cancer cells. And when High-Dose Ketoconazole Treatment for Prostate Cancer is used in junction with Hydrocortisone (abbreviated as HC), it can be a more comprehensive treatment for prostate cancer, a complete ADT, the Ketoconazole inhibiting the release of testosterone and the Hydrocortisone to replace cortisol production.

Those that cannot tolerate high amounts of Ketoconazole can lower the dosage regimen. An approach called Low-Dose Ketoconazole (abbreviated as LDK) was also found out to be an effective Ketoconazole treatment for prostate cancer, since Low-Dose Ketoconazole will be taking advantage of secondary hormonal manipulation.

High-Dose Ketoconazole is approved at 200mg. 3x a day for the initial week. After which, High-Dose Ketoconazole is increased to 400mg. still 3x every day. The Ketoconazole should be taken without food. To be more effective, it should be taken in between meals, at least two hours from the last meal.

Food present at the stomach will interfere with the Ketoconazole absorption, and so do other chemicals like histamines and receptor antagonists.

The accompanying Hydrocortisone should be taken opposite. It has to be taken during mealtime. Take Hydrocortisone carefully, and take it as per your doctor’s amount. Hydrocortisone excess manifests itself by swelling in the areas of the ankles. DO NOT immediately discontinue Hydrocortisone usage but instead taper the usage gradually.

In brief, using Ketoconazole treatment for prostate cancer has the greatest potential. Ketoconazole is a very active agent to battle prostate cancer cells, monitoring blood level makes it easy to evaluate the efficiency of the regimen, and it attacks multiple cancer agents by blocking enzymatic degradation.

Nizoral® has the generic name of Ketoconazole. Suggest it to your doctor.
