Histrionics resemble narcissists – both seek attention compulsively and are significantly dysphoric and unpleasant when not at the focal point. They have to be the life of the party. If they fail in accomplishing this critical role, they act out or create hysterical scenes.

The histrionic is preoccupied with physical appearance, sexual conquests, her health, and her body. The normal histrionic invests huge dollops of money and uses up excessive quantities of time on grooming.

Histrionics fish for compliments and are disturbed when confronted with criticism or evidence that they are not as glamorous or appealing as they think they are.

Histrionics sexualize everybody and every scenario. They constantly act flirtatious, provocative, and sexy, even when such habits is not warranted by circumstances or, even worse still, is extremely inappropriate.

Such conduct is frequently ill received. People normally find this unabashed directness and undisguised hunger for approval bothersome, or outright repulsive. Subsequently, histrionics are in some cases subject to social censure and ostracism.

The histrionics’ strength and unpredictability are tiring. The histrionic’s closest and dearest are frequently humiliated by her unchecked screen of emotions: hugging casual acquaintances, uncontrollable sobbing in public, or having tantrum.

The histrionic’s behavior is so off-color that she is usually accused of being a phony.

Concerned just with the most recent conquest, the histrionic uses her physical appearance and attire as a sort of mindful bait.

It is paradoxical that histrionics often error the depth, toughness, and intimacy of their relationships and are ravaged by their unavoidable early termination.

Histrionics are the ultimate drama queens. They are theatrical, their feelings overemphasized to the point of a caricature, their gestures sweeping, disproportional, and improper.

The histrionic is quickly suggestible and reacts immediately and completely to the slightest modification in scenarios and to the most meaningless interaction or behavior by others.

Histrionics resemble narcissists – both look for attention compulsively and are considerably dysphoric and uneasy when not at the center of attention. If they stop working in achieving this essential role, they act out or develop hysterical scenes.

Histrionics are sometimes subject to social censure and ostracism.
